 | Arctic Umiaq Line A/S This company was originally founded in 1774 under the name Den Kongelige Grønlandske Handel (Royal Greenland Trading Company) and operated shipping between Denmark and Greenland and in Greenland with both cargo and passengers. In time cargo and passenger traffic was split up and in 2006 Air Greenland and Royal Arctic Line, which is a shipping company, joined in a partnership and took over the company. Arctic Umiaq Line now only undertakes the transport of passengers along the west coast of Greenland between Narsarsuaq in the south and Ilulissat in the north. |
