A possible strike from 2 December
Air Greenland has received a 2nd strike notice from the Air Greenland Cabin Crew Union (ACU), which is organised under the Danish organisation Flyvebranchens Personale Union, FPU. If (the parties) do not find a solution by Friday 2 December, the strike will be enforced and all passenger flights will be suspended from that date.
On 16 November 2022, Air Greenland received its first strike warning from the FPU after long-running negotiations on a new union agreement broke down. Now, Air Greenland has received a second strike warning, in which the FPU announces that if a new agreement is not reached, the cabin crew members' strike will start at 00.01 on Friday 2 December 2022.
Air Greenland's CEO, Jacob Nitter Sørensen, expresses regret at the announcement and hopes that it will not come to the point where flights have to be suspended. He still believes that a solution can be found in the Conciliation Institution.
- We are extremely happy with our cabin crew members, and I know that our customers are too. Of course, we had hoped to avoid this situation, but we have to be honest and say that we believe that the offers we have made have been realistic. There is only one place where we can recover the extra costs we are taking on in a new agreement and that is in the ticket prices. In the negotiations, we have wanted the pay rise we have offered to be met with more flexibility in work scheduling. We need this, as we must be stronger in the future - including financially, to withstand the competition we will face, says Jacob Nitter Sørensen.

Konfliktens kerne
Air Greenlands CEO, Jacob Nitter Sørensen præciserer hvorfor selskabet kom ud med overskud sidste år mens andre luftfartsselskaber kæmpede for overlevelse.
