Air Greenland enters into partnership with Kalaallit Red Cross – INUA

Young volunteers as local driving forces

KRK INUA trains young facilitators who can create safe environments for other young people and ensure that the initiatives are firmly rooted in the local community. According to the implementation plan, the activities will be gradually expanded to include both short-term courses and longer-term support initiatives in a number of local communities.
The initiatives contribute to building sustainable communities where young people receive support and take responsibility – with a focus on prevention, life skills, and coherence in the initiatives.

A shared responsibility

The partnership is part of Air Greenland's work with social responsibility and reflects a desire to actively contribute to the development of society.

- KRK INUA works seriously and professionally with young people's well-being – even under logistically challenging conditions. The partnership makes it possible for more young people to access support and tools that strengthen their opportunities to shape their own future, says Inga Dóra G. Markussen, Director of Sustainability at Air Greenland.

At KRK INUA, cooperation is seen as an important contribution to the coherence and quality of the effort:

- Our work relies on young volunteers who are committed to helping other young people. Transport subsidies make it possible to train facilitators, run courses, and maintain local activities — even in places where distance would otherwise be a barrier, says Erni Kristiansen, Project manager at KRK INUA.
