Operational notice from Air Greenland Cargo
Dear freight and postal customers
Air Greenland apologises for the continued delays in the delivery of parcels and mail.
Since 3 September, we have been implementing a new cargo system designed to ensure more efficient and transparent handling of shipments across the country. The transition has proven more extensive than expected and has temporarily led to a backlog of freight and mail – especially in Nuuk.
The challenge is not related to the capacity of the aircraft but primarily to the handling and forwarding of parcels and mail between airports, which affects overall delivery times.
Our staff in the cargo departments are working intensively to ensure that shipments reach their destinations as quickly as possible – both to major customers such as Tusass and other freight forwarders responsible for further distribution, and to individual recipients across the country. We would like to emphasise that the delays are not caused by these partners but by the temporary transition to the new system, which unfortunately also affects their customers.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience these delays may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to normalise operations and create a more robust cargo system for the benefit of all customers.
Sincerely,
Air Greenland – Cargo Department
