2025 flight schedule expanded with new options

Sommerfartplan 2025

The route between Nuuk and Billund will be expanded with an extra departure per week via Keflavik and the route between Nuuk and Aalborg will become direct.

On 28 November 2024, Air Greenland's new flight schedule will enter into force with new routings in Greenland and new routes to and from the outside world. This is in connection with the opening of the 2200 metre runway at Nuuk International Airport. In this connection, Air Greenland can now add two new routes to the summer timetable for 2025.

From 18 June to 27 August 2025, the timetable will be expanded with one direct weekly departure between Nuuk and Aalborg.  And in the period 18 March to 23 October 2025, an extra flight per week will be added between Nuuk and Billund with a stopover in Keflavik.

With these new initiatives, Air Greenland is stronger in a new reality of increased competition and increased connectivity to and from Greenland. This is according to Jacob Nitter Sørensen, CEO of the Air Greenland Group.

“We have flown Aalborg - Kangerlussuaq via Copenhagen in 2024 and our analyses show that there is good interest from customers. However, many have requested a direct route and with the opening of Nuuk International Airport, we can now offer a direct route in the summer timetable,” says Jacob Nitter Sørensen.

Interest in travelling between Jutland and Greenland is high, which has also proved true for the route between Kangerlussuaq and Billund. Therefore, an extra weekly departure will be added between Nuuk and Billund, but with a stopover in Keflavik.

“By adding an extra weekly flight between Nuuk and Billund with a stopover in Keflavik, we open for travellers to and from North America and Greenland on the Nuuk - Keflavik route. On the route between Billund and Keflavik, we cooperate with Icelandair to sell seats on this route. We see a market in positive development, where many people want to fly from Jutland to Iceland and vice versa, and we hope that customers will welcome this” explains Jacob Nitter Sørensen.

The two routes will be added to the booking systems next week and will be operated by Jettime's Boeing 737-800.
