Airspace restrictions around Nuuk may affect flight operations
The air traffic control service responsible for arriving and departing aircraft in the airspace around Nuuk Airport (Nuuk Approach/Naviar) will operate with adjusted opening hours for a period due to anticipated lower traffic activity and reduced staffing. This means that flights to and from Nuuk will be subject to restrictions during certain periods.
According to Greenland Airports, Nuuk Approach is scheduled to be open from 7 October to 19 October, Monday to Saturday, from 07:00 to 16:00 local time. In addition, the service will be closed on Sundays until and including 6 December. Read more here.
When Nuuk Approach is closed, Nuuk Airport remains open, but flight operations are subject to greater restrictions. This may affect individual flights, particularly if the weather or other operational conditions affect traffic flow. At the same time, the restrictions limit our ability to operate additional flights during irregular operations.
Air Greenland is monitoring the situation closely and continues to work with Greenland Airports to minimise the impact on passengers as much as possible.

Information to passengers departing early mornings in Nuuk
To help make your journey from Nuuk Airport as smooth as possible, we recommend that you arrive for check-in no earlier than 2 hours before departure.
In the morning hours, there may be waiting time at check-in, as Greenland Airports is, for operational reasons, only able to accept baggage later than usual.
Please use the self-check-in kiosk and attach baggage tags to your bags. Please also have your passport or other valid identification ready.
Queues may form at security, so passengers on the earliest departures are kindly asked to go to security first when it opens.
