The route Nuuk - Aalborg will be operated twice weekly
Air Greenland and travel agency Ruby Rejser have entered an agreement on collaboration for two weekly flights on the Nuuk - Aalborg route in the summer of 2025.
Air Greenland recently announced its plans to operate the route between Nuuk and Aalborg once a week in the summer of 2025. This plan has now been expanded to two weekly departures after Air Greenland and travel agency Ruby Rejser signed a co-operation agreement to share seat sales on the route in summer 2025.
The route between Nuuk and Aalborg will be operated on Mondays and Thursdays from 12 June to 1 September 2025 and will be operated by an aircraft from the air charter company Airseven.
Air Greenland's Commercial Director, CCO, Kasper Rungfeldt, is pleased with the agreement as it increases the possibility of the route's success and thus its future development opportunities.
“By partnering with Ruby Travel to take half of the aircraft's seat capacity and fill the flights with as many travellers to and from Greenland as possible, we not only contribute with more travellers on our domestic route network. The agreement can create organic growth that will benefit the success of the route, “ says Kasper Rungfeldt.
Morten Meyer, Agency Manager at Ruby Travel's department in Aalborg, also expresses satisfaction with the cooperation agreement and expects it to contribute to the route's profitability.
“We are extremely pleased to have entered a collaboration with Air Greenland and see many opportunities in both the short and long term. The agreement has been finalised quickly through an agile approach from both companies. We believe that together with Air Greenland we are in a stronger position to make the route profitable so that we can repeat the route in the future and perhaps even make the series longer. We have previously mentioned that we want to make Greenland more accessible as a travel destination for everyone with an ordinary travel budget. With this new collaboration, we believe we are even better equipped to do just that,” says Morten Meyer.
Niels Hemmingsen from Aalborg Airport says:
"Aalborg Airport welcomes the new collaboration between Ruby Travel and Air Greenland on the planned direct flights to and from Nuuk. With both players on the two weekly flights, both business and leisure travellers will have good travel opportunities directly to the Greenlandic capital and possibly further through Air Greenland's domestic network in Greenland. At the same time, it is exciting to see what other opportunities the co-operation will bring in the coming years"
