Information about an incident
At 11.33 am, it was reported that the nose wheel of Air Greenland's ambulance aircraft Innisaq, a Kingair aircraft, punctured during take-off from Aasiaat Airport today Thursday 22 May at 11.20 am local time. The puncture occurred at low speed, causing the aircraft to stall.
The incident resulted in the runway being closed for a short period of time while the aircraft was pulled off the runway and onto the apron.
In addition to the crew, two healthcare workers were on board the aircraft and are doing well. Theyhave been debriefed by the crew.
Air Greenland's mechanics assess that the damage is limited to the wheel and send a mechanic with tools and spare parts from Nuuk to Aasiaat. The aircraft is expected to be ready at 17.30 and should an evacuation occur, one of the Dash-8 aircraft will take on this task.
